[Zenith News=Jieun Oh] Actor Shin Hyun-soo from the drama 'Welcome to Waikiki 2' thanked Lee Yi-kyung.
Actors Shin Hyun-soo and Zenith News met at a cafe located in Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam, Seoul, on the 17th through an interview regarding the end of the JTBC drama 'Welcome to Waikiki 2.'
'Welcome to Waikiki 2' is a youth drama unfolded in Waikiki, a guest house in danger of shut down. In the drama, Shin Hyun-soo acted passionately with the role of Kuk Ki-bong, the co-CEO of the guest house Waikiki and a second-tier pro baseball player.
On this day, Shin Hyun-soo said of Lee Yi-kyung, "This is the person who made me feel like 'that is Waikiki'. Lee Yi-kyung, who was the only one among the cast members of season 1 to join season 2, played Lee Jun-ki who is a co-CEO of Waikiki and working minor role actor.
Shin Hyun-soo said, "I couldn't go to many script reading sessions because of the overlap with the shooting for 'Twelve Nights' in the first half, but Lee Yi-kyung-hyung couldn't come much either because of 'Children of Nobody'. Then I saw him acting for the first time and felt like "This is Waikiki." It was a real shock. My brother was 'Waikiki' itself."
"Lee Kyung has broadened the scope of acting. I had that in mind and playing Ki Bong-yi as real comedy for comedic parts and expressed love in scenes I had to show love." he added.
Finally, Shin Hyun-soo said, "I think that's why I prefer the 'Jun Ki-bong' (Jun Ki-Kibong) chemistry. I'm always grateful to Lee Yi-kyung."
Meanwhile, 'Welcome to Waikiki 2' ended with a 1.1 percent viewership rating in the final episode which aired on the 14th.
