[Zenith News=Byeon Jinhee] Singer Kyuhyun talked about the reason why he rejected the MC position at 'Radio Star.'
Zenith News and Kyuhyun recently met at SM Communication Center in Gangnam, Seoul with an inteview marking the release of his new single album 'The Day We Meet Again.'
Kyuhyun, who was active as the MC for MBC's 'Radio Star' before joining the military, was offered his position to be back as the MC ahead of his discharge. However, Kyuhyun rejected the offer, causing sadness.
Regarding this, Kyuhyun said, “For the nature of 'Radio Star', I needed to make fun of someone and sometimes talk meanly, and then at one point my anti-fans have increased more than I had imagined. I'm not so rude and mean, but I was upset that many people knew me like that. Of course, it's what I did, but how did I get this image? I was stressed out, so when the proposal was made, I told the producers and the other MCs about my situation and told them I was sorry."
"Of course, I'm grateful that it's a good show that introduced myself as a celebrity to many people but ,I thought that I couldn't do it while enjoying myself anymore, so I decided to let it go."
Soon after his discharge from the military, Kyuhyun filmed for 'Kang's Kitchen' and announced the news of his appearance on various entertainment programs. As for the start of his entertainment career, Kyuhyun said with a smile, "'Immortal Songs: Singing the Legend' was the beginning. Everything seems to be a butterfly effect. Gu-ra recommended me to Radio Star because he thought well of me, and thanks to him, I got a lot of work. I was able to promote my song 'At Gwanghwamun' and release a solo album. And I heard that the producers of 'Radio Star' recommended me to join 'New Journey to the West'. Gu-ra is my teacher."
Meanwhile, Kyuhyun will release 'The Day We Meet Again' on the afternoon of the 20th and begin his promotions.
