[Zenith News=Byeon Jinhee] Kim Go-eun has been confirmed to be the main character of the drama 'The King: The Eternal Monarch' written by writer Kim Eun-sook.
Production company, Hwa&Dam Pictures said "As 'The King: The Eternal Monarch' claims to be the fantasy romance drama that features parallel worlds between Republic of Korea and the Korean Empire, Kim Go-eun challenges to play a double role as 'Jung Tae-eul' who is a detective in Republic of Korea and 'Luna' who is living a miserable life in the Korean Empire.”
"It's never easy to play extremely opposite characters of a detective and a criminal at the same time but, we decided that Kim Go-eun can play the double role of Jung Tae-eul and Luna for her ability to be a certain character that she showed through various movies or her wide and natural acting of the process in which a girl growing up to be a lover in 'Guardian: The Lonely and Great God.'" said the company, revealing the reason behind casting her.
'The King: The Eternal Monarch' is a fantasy romance story in which Yi-gon, the emperor of the Korean Empire who tries to close the door of dimension against the whisper of a devil, and Jung Tae-eul, a literary detective who tries to keep someone's life and love, are collaborating between two a parallel worlds that was rarely covered in the drama.
Meanwhile, 'The King: The Eternal Monarch' is scheduled to begin filming in the second half of this year and will be aired in the first half of 2020.
