The movie 'Parasite' is set to be released on May 30th. In addition, 'Parasite' will be presented at the 72nd Cannes Film Festival. Director Bong Joon-ho, actors Song Kang-ho, Lee Sun-kyun, Cho Yeo-jeong, Choi Woo-sik, Park So-dam and Jang Hye-jin will step on Cannes' red carpet in person.
The movie, 'Parasite' is about a family meeting that began when 'Gi-woo', the eldest son of 'Gi-taek' whose family is all out of work, steps into the 'Mr.Park's house' for a high-priced private interview, turns into an uncontrollable incident. The movie was officially invited to compete at the 72nd Cannes Film Festival.
This marks Bong Joon-ho's fifth visit to the Cannes Film Festival after 'The Host', 'Tokyo!', 'Mother', and 'Okja', all of which he directed.

Also Making his way into the Cannes the fifth time and stepping on the red carpet fourth time following 'The Host', 'Secret Sunshine' and 'The Good, The Bad, The Weird', Song Kang-ho said "Luckily, I was able to attend the Cannes Film Festival while working on the great works. I'm very excited and honored to be able to show the evolution and development of Korean movies in the world through 'Parasite'.".
In addition, Lee Sun-kyun, who was invited for the second time since 'A Hard Day' and Choi Woo-sik, who was invited for the third time following 'Train to Busan' and 'Okja', are expected to attend the Cannes International Film Festival to draw attention from movie officials and fans around the world.
