[Zenith News=Yoori Lim] Actor Shin Sung-min expressed his feelings about returning to the musical stage after a long time.
A press call for the musical 'Sidereus' was held at the mid-size Theater Black at Chungmu Art Center in Heungin-dong, Jung-gu Seoul in the afternoon of 24th. Director Kim Dong-yeon, composer Lee Yoo-jung, and actors Ko Young-bin, Jung Min-min, Park Min-sung, Shin Sung-min, Jung Wook-jin, Shin Joo-hyeop, Kim Bo-jeong and Na Ha-na attended the event.
Shin Sung-min returned to the musical stage for the first time in 5 years since the musical 'Puberty' in 2014. When asked about how he felt and why he chose this production, he said, "I'm grateful that the work 'Sidereus' chose me rather than I chose it".
Shin Sung-min added "When I first saw the character or the work called Kepler, I thought it might be a bit dark because I thought it was kind of a rebellion against something taboo at that time, but I watched it with a very warm heart. I wanted to be very warm at that time. I think that was the biggest reason", explaining why he chose this work.
"I felt devastated when I was talking about war and death" said Shin Sung-min. "'Sidereus' was warm to me in general. So I decided to do this production, and now I'm very satisfied and living as a warm person this spring" he added with a smile.
Meanwhile, the musical 'Sidereus' features two scholars, Kepler and Galileo, on a journey to find the truth about the tabooed heliocentric theory. It will be performed at the Chungmu Arts Center's Theater Black until June 30th.
